AS: What are some self-care practices that you find most benefit your work & creative output?
CH: I’d like to say I lead a healthy lifestyle, but balancing everything can be challenging with today’s demands, especially as a parent juggling children and a role with responsibilities. Whenever I can, I make an effort to listen to my body, incorporating breathing exercises and fitness into my routine. Pausing and focusing on my breath is truly key in so many situations
AS: In what ways do you nurture your mental and emotional health to maintain creativity and inspiration?
CH: Escaping to places not too far from Paris, yet distant enough to lose the urban feel, is essential for me. I love being in open spaces surrounded by greenery and old stones; it greatly enhances my peace of mind and fuels my creativity. Also, when I visit a museum or watch a movie, that’s when my creativity truly comes alive—my mind fills with endless thoughts and inspiration.
"All the resources you need are within you." - Cyrielle Hervé
AS: What practices or routines do you incorporate into your daily life to support your work while maintaining your creative energy and mental well-being?
CH: Upon waking, I always try to take a moment for myself—to stretch, become aware of my body, and ground myself. As soon as I start walking, I listen to music. It’s an essential part of my routine, profoundly impacting my motivation. Music has an incredible ability to shift me from a state of stress to one of calm and tranquility.
AS: How do you handle setbacks or challenges in your creative endeavors while still prioritizing your well-being?
CH: When I face setbacks, I try to take a step back and surround myself with my team to bounce back more effectively. I have a strong belief in teamwork and our ability to solve problems together. During difficult times, everyone’s well-being should be a priority, and that relies on kindness and mutual support.
I also pay great attention to curating our spaces. Being surrounded by beautifully displayed works of art has a significant subconscious impact on your mindset.
AS: What specific environment or settings do you find especially conducive to both self-care and creative inspiration?
CH: Immersing myself in art; stepping away from my routine helps me find inspiration. Additionally, activities that put me in a meditative state, like walking for hours or listening to music, are incredibly powerful sources of creativity.
AS: Best self-care advice you have received?
CH: "All the resources you need are within you". I often underestimate myself, and it requires a strong effort to dig deeper. It’s essential to rely on oneself and cultivate self-trust.
